New Post-Doctoral Community of Practice

NHS R&D North West is looking to create a Post Doctoral Community of Practice to support post-doctoral researchers in the North of England Region.

This Community of Practice will provide dedicated support and resources tailored to the needs of the community around topics such as; career planning/development, joint appointments, host organisation commitment, grant writing support, networking opportunities, work-life balance, influencing practice whilst not working clinically, imposter syndrome.

There will be four interactive workshops over a 12 month period, designed to explore and address the research career challenges identified by post-doctoral clinicians, with a balance of inputs from experienced post-doctoral researchers/experts and facilitated self-analysis experiential solutions.  This will create a post-doctoral support network (Community of Practice) that can continue to meet/share ideas.

Whilst this is still in the development stages we are hoping to hold the first workshop in January 2026.  If you would like to be part of this initiative and have not already signed up, or would like more information, then please contact joanne.simpson@researchnorthwest.nhs.uk.
