About
I am an experienced paediatric physiotherapist with over 19 years of clinical practice, specialising in early intervention for infants and preschool-aged children with neurodevelopmental needs and neurodisability. I began my academic journey in 2021–22 through the Early Career Researcher programme, which sparked my interest in clinical research and academic leadership. This was followed by an Integrated Clinical Academic Internship, where I contributed to a qualitative study and went on to develop my own research protocol, successfully securing NHS ethics approval. My NIHR Predoctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship (PCAF) has provided protected time to develop skills in research methodology, governance and leadership, alongside presenting work at national and international conferences. I am currently Principal Investigator for my Trust on the multicentre NIHR CHESS clinical trial. I am passionate about improving outcomes for infants at risk of neurodisability.

What motivates you to become a mentor?
I was a mentor on the ECR (NHS NW R&D) programme few years ago and found the process very rewarding. I am now a few more steps further into the research journey. I am having regular mentor sessions for myself and I know how helpful mentorship is! I hope to be able to help others by being part of this.
