About
Prior joining NHS Research and Development Northwest, I was Associate Dean in the Faculty of Health, Psychology, and Social Care at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), where I led research capacity development of academic staff and supervised many research degree students to completion of their studies. In addition, over a 30+ year period at MMU, I was head of three academic departments, all dedicated to the education of health and social work/care professionals and delivered a range of taught programmes concerned with the psychology of interpersonal communication. . My current role enables me to continue much of this work with early career clinical and practitioner researchers employed within or beyond the NHS.
