I am an experienced advanced clinical practitioner with knowledge of mixed methods research. I have a strong interest in supporting beginner and early-career researchers to develop practical research skills. My background spans applied research, critical appraisal, and evidence-based practice, with particular experience in health. My mentoring style is supportive, practical, and tailored to individual needs. I aim to create a safe and encouraging environment where questions are welcomed and learning is collaborative. I understand that research can feel overwhelming at the beginning, and my goal is to help mentees build skills, confidence, and independence while enjoying the process of inquiry and discovery.

Research Experience and Background
I have recently completed a dissertation study using mixed methods which has widened my knowledge of the different processes involved and the challenges. I’m aiming to gain access to a PhD in the near future.

Clinical Experience
My current clinical experience is in acute medicine. Previously I have worked in neurosurgery, site management and education.

What motivates you to become a mentor?
Personally I am a strong reflective learner and always actively engaging in reviewing evidence relevant to practice. I am highly motivated to support those embarking on a research career.
