About
I have over 30 years’ experience working in the NHS and joined the NHS R&D NW team in April 2013. In my current role as Chief Operating Officer, I oversee and lead on a number of programmes supporting research practitioners from those who are curious about a career in research to more established practitioner researchers. I am also a Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. I am passionate about capacity building and encouraging others to build capacity within their organisations and supporting others. As the lead for the NIHR Health and Care Professional Internship I am well placed to advise on gaining employer support, backfill capacity, protected time, supervisory arrangements and mentors. I work closely with colleagues in the Research Support Service, the Regional Research Delivery Network and NIHR.
