About
I am a clinical manager with the NIHR NW RDN and am hosted my MFT NHS Foundation trust. I manage secondary care and non-nhs settings support from our agile research delivery team (community/residential – prisons, care homes etc). I have previously worked on research in secondary care as a clinical research nurse and my background is in paediatrics although I have worked across settings and demographics since working for the NIHR. My main area of interest is innovation in research and how we reach underserved populations and communities in order to ensure fair representation in the evidence base from which we all work.I would be an ideal mentor for someone who is more comfortable with academia but is yet to venture into the world of applied research and is interested in how research is delivered from a study protocol and how the NIHR supports across the research landscape.

Research Experience and Background
My research experience spills into my clinical experience as I am working clinically within research. I completed the ECRDP in 2021/22 and am a research champion within manchester NHS university foundation trust. I work in a variety of research settings supporting academics and commerical sponsors with research delivery. I have worked on primary care studies, secondary care studies, most recently i have become involved with prison research and have done a lot of work facilitating research for under-served populations. My research experience is very practical/hands on but I have worked from a vast amount of protocols from PHD student projects to commercial CTIMPS. I would be an ideal mentor for somebody seeking to gain insight into how research is delivered.
Clinical Experience
My background is as a Childrens Nurse I worked for a few years as a childrens general nurse, a&e nurse and subsequently my interest in quality improvement led me into research and I have since worked as a clinical research nurse within general paediatrics and paediatric nephrology and am now a research clinical manager with the NIHR, managing an agile research delivery workforce. I have worked in the research field across a variety of settings including primary care, community, residential and secondary care.
