Mentoring Hub for NHS R&D North West researchers

What is mentoring?

Mentoring in this context is a developmental relationship where a more experienced person supports someone who wants to grow their skills, confidence and career in research and innovation. It is not line management, supervision or therapy, and it sits alongside, not instead of, local support structures. The focus is on listening, asking good questions and helping the mentee make their own decisions, rather than giving instructions.
At NHS R&D North West, mentoring complements coaching across our programmes.
