Developing Cultures of Research & Innovation in Clinical Teams

Evidence based approaches to research capacity building demonstrate consistently that capacity building requires a focus not only on the personal development of researchers but also on the development of cultures supportive or research and innovation within teams and organisations.  Managers and team leaders therefore play a central role in delivering on this agenda and yet this is an area in which they obtain varying levels of support.

The focus on this aspect of leadership has increased significantly over the last year due to the agendas of emerging organisations, such as Academic Health Science Networks and Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care, and existing organisations, such as Clinical Research Networks.

This facilitated workshop will bring together key stakeholders from across the North West with the aim of developing a clear understanding of the characteristics of a culture of research and innovation and how clinical leaders can be supported in developing such cultures.
