Archive – Innovation Workshops

It is without question that people working in the NHS have the ability to innovate and the importance of this agenda is highlighted consistently in health policy.  However, whilst the key message being conveyed is that innovation is everyone’s business there is a need to support clinicians in delivering on this agenda.

The North West Coast Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN) is on of 15 AHSNs and covers a population of circa 4 million residents in Cheshire, Merseyside, South Cumbria and Lancashire.  Its primary role is to form a network of NHS organisations, universities and businesses to achieve measurable results in the following key areas;

  • To identify and address unmet need /priority improvement areas
  • To speed up the adoption of innovation
  • To identify and enable research
  • To create wealth

NHS R&D NW has been funded by NWC AHSN to support their work through:

  • a series of introductory workshops aimed at increasing engagement and understanding innovation agenda
  • a focused programme of support and personal development, to support a cohort of potential innovators in moving from an idea into a project implementation plan.

These workshops are offered to NHS employees within the member or partner organisations of the NWC AHSN.
