It is without question that people working in the NHS have the ability to innovate and the importance of this agenda is highlighted consistently in health policy. However, whilst the key message being conveyed is that innovation is everyone’s business there is a need to support clinicians in delivering on this agenda.
The North West Coast Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN) is one of 15 AHSNs and covers a population of circa 4 million residents in Cheshire, Merseyside, South Cumbria and Lancashire. Its primary role is to form a network of NHS organisations, universities and businesses to achieve measurable results in the following key areas;
