Catalyst event: How can we demonstrate the benefits of involving the public in research?

How can we demonstrate the benefits of involving the public in research?

This Catalyst Event offered an exciting opportunity to discuss the evidence-base and explore new approaches for future research.

The day was introduced by Mr Simon Denegri, Chair of INVOLVE and National Director for Public Participation and Engagement in Research, and Mr Derek Stewart, Associate Director for Patient & Public Involvement National Institute for Health Research, Clinical Research Network.

This event gathered together people from diverse backgrounds across the North West of England, all of whom had an interest or expertise in public involvement in health and social care research.

The event provided invitees with the opportunity to look at different ways of working with other individuals and across organisations, with a view to developing innovative ideas and developing new projects that could bid, for example, for  National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funding or EU funding.
