An Environmental Scan of Challenges & Opportunities around the North

In 2019 Health Education England commissioned us to produce a scanning report of challenges and opportunities for early career researchers across the North whilst developing their clinical academic career.  Whilst preparing this report we undertook a number of face to face interviews with senior research leaders, who provided a wealth of data from those who have developed important perspectives on the challenge of increasing research capacity and capability in the region. All contributors were keen to share their experiences and views and to reflect on the current initiatives to foster clinical academic careers.
