Innovation Agency, Academic Health Science Network NW Coast (NWCAHSN)

The primary role of the Innovation Agency is to form a network of NHS organisations, universities and businesses and achieve measurable results in the following key delivery areas:

  • To identify and address unmet need/ priority improvement areas
  • To speed up the adoption of innovation
  • To identify and enable research
  • To create wealth

The North West Coast Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN) holds the national lead for five areas:

  • Digital health
  • Personalised Medicine
  • Infection and tropical disease
  • Neurological Conditions
  • Procurement

In addition, the AHSN has six clinical themes:

  • Cardiac Health
  • Child and Maternal Health
  • Cancer
  • Long Term Conditions
  • Mental Health
  • Stroke
